Here's the weekly round up from the office and beyond.

Things we’ve been reading

Behind the App: The Story of 1Password - We take 1Password for granted on a day to day basis, so it was interesting to read how it came about.

Why Gandhi Is Such An Asshole In Civilization - If the word Civilization brings back fond memories of an Amiga 500 and beyond.

Patch Tuesday has come and gone. This makes a full house, as every TLS stack, that's Transport Layer Security to you and me, has had a severe vulnerability this year.

Arcatecture: 12 Cat Homes Created by Architects for Charity - Some cats deserve a break and these architects know how to design. Do cats have a dream home?, only time will tell.

What we've been watching

This week many people in the office have been to watch Interstellar and on returning to slack this was exciting news for lots of them. ‘Interstellar's’ Jonah Nolan Developing ‘Foundation’ Series for HBO, WBTV (Exclusive)

The cyclists in the office have been following @colcollective as they document their travels of the best European cycling climbs through their fantastic youtube channel.

Things we’re going to

Shape-shifting designers - Last night Twitter was alight with useful insights during the #ualfutures event. Our very own Paul Hamilton gave his perspective on designing for the ever changing digital landscape and how to design the right thing. Here's a post we've just written on the event

Think Drink Do | Behavioural Change & Technology - Our friend Cath Richardson works in user research at Goverment Digital Service (GDS) and is talking about how they are making a difference to online government services.

Codabar.io - On Wednesday we are hosting the next CodeBar London coding workshop. CodeBar is helping those underrepresented in the tech industry improve their skills and get excited about working in the sector.

Timber! - Cirque Alfonse bring their latest show featuring beard wearing Quebecan loggers to the Queen Elizabeth Hall from December 21st. Those who enjoy the theatre will be buying a ticket and the others of us will be searching out the nearest doughnut burger.

Things we’ve been eating

Some of us were lucky enough to be working near Leather Lane this week. Last week I was making the lockshen pudding. This week someone was making it for me at Tongue and Brisket. The salt beef is Brick lane style and they have other staple foods from my childhood too.

Speaking of Salt beef Ilya also enjoyed a filled sandwich at The Charles Lamb this week. Topic of conversation at the table was the Booth Poverty Map from the late 1800's which hangs on the wall.

Future eats - Dishoom Kings Cross soft launched on Nov 5th and is opening full time from 20th, next thursday. Twitter users have been reporting big queues this week, as it's 50% off food during the soft launch. So it's probably best to wait till it's fully open to venture over to Granary Square.
