We are looking for a great technologist to join our team.

We believe that technology is not invisible to users, but rather integral to how people feel about a product and the companies that make them. The products we make resemble digital start-ups and we use similar approaches to build them.

We conceive, design and develop new and innovative digital products and services for our clients, and we relentlessly focus on user experience through a synthesis of great design and great technology.

You can see examples of our recent work at the multiple award-winning ITV News and Skype in the Classroom and there’s loads of examples of work here on our blog.

Our approach is highly Agile, using Scrum and sometimes Kanban based approaches; we work iteratively but even before that we prototype products with lightweight technologies to refine our thinking and test with customers.

Our main back-end technology is Ruby, primarily because we find it is well suited to delivering innovative products in an iterative environment but we also work with NodeJS, Go, MongoDB and other technologies. We believe that making bespoke solutions utilising small tools allows us to create innovative, emotionally satisfying software. A lot of our solutions are deployed on AWS hosting and a familiarity with deployment technolgies and scaling techniques would be helpful.

We also create iOS and Android applications, and a familiarity with these technologies would be beneficial. While we are primarily looking for Ruby skills, we like technologists who have exposure to a wide range of technologies and languages. The more open-minded you are about the tools you use, and the more willing you are to experiment with new technologies and techniques, the better.

We are based in a canal-side old marble factory in Islington and you would get to work with a talented group of developers, designers and one crazy office dog.

To get a closer look at our studio and the way we work, have a look at this video that Studio Life made about us:

We are also able to sponsor visas from abroad for the right applicants if you fancy relocating to London.

If you are an experienced Ruby developer with a background in making digital products and want to work with designers and strategists collaborating on conceiving and executing ideas for new products, we would love to talk to you about a job here at Made by Many. We are looking for people with opinions about the right thing to do, the experience to know which are the right tradeoffs, the maturity to know how to provide great service to our clients, and the technical skill to deliver at the highest level of quality.

If this opening sounds interesting to you and you think you have the skills and profile required, please apply via Recruiterbox: https://madebymany.recruiterbox.com/jobs/22359

Update: we are only interested in hearing directly from candidates. Please, no recruiters.
